OUR STORY

We are a family of five, who had a dream. A dream big enough to be almost impossible. We fell in love with the old dormant Van Riebeeck Theater, which was not in use for many years. With a lot of prayers and a string of miracles, we acquired the theatre. The inside of the theatre with its original retro red 535, amphitheater-style seats were beautifully preserved. We discovered unused rooms behind the huge stage and converted them into luxury rooms. The former dressing rooms were also upgraded into small guest rooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom.

We started to fix and replace water pipes, added a small kitchen to the building whilst living in the upstairs projector room with its storerooms. It was a big sacrifice, but at the same time also a very big adventure, for which we are extremely grateful!

I did all the interior design, with the help of my mother (Corlia de Wet) who is the most practical person on earth, not to mention extremely creative. I had a vision, and she helped me to execute it. We spend a lot of time to get the theatre to be fully functional and it and we will continue to add value and make it better and better for our guests, who are very special to us.

We have also added 6 standard rooms, so in total, we have 2 Luxury Rooms, 2 Basic Rooms, 6 Standard rooms and then the private House with 4 Rooms. We can accommodate a total of 23 persons.

My husband and myself have both been in the hospitality industry for more than 20 years. We have combined our skills and experience to bring you an unusually unique stay, where dreams can come true; where you can rest and experience homely, true warm African hospitality in a beautiful and serene environment.
